Action! - Spaghetti alla Sergio: Il West violentemente divertente di Corbucci
Featuring the dynamic combo of Bud Spencer and Terrence Hill, Corbucci delivers another successful buddy cop comedy that blends elements of humor, crime procedurals, and a peculiar sport I've never heard of before.
Hill and Spencer are a big part of what makes this film worth watching. Many humorous exchanges result from the characters' chemistry and their mutual misunderstanding of a particular revelation. While the action sequences aren't as as brilliantly done as the director's work in Westerns, they are nicely handled, and the humor is seamlessly woven throughout.
All in all, a humorous and engaging film with a well-written story and great acting.

Das war tatsächlich mein erster Spencer/Hill Film. Im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen hab ich ihn allerdings nicht durch meine Familie, sondern durch YT kennen gelernt. War so Anfang 2020 im Lockdown und ich hatte lust mehr Filme zu schauen, konnte aber nur die kostenlosen auf YT gucken. Naja und Bud Spencer und Terence Hill bieten sich da eben perfekt an.
Leider musste ich dieses mal einen halben Stern abziehen. Ich hatte den Film jetzt länger schon nicht mehr gesehen und war dann doch ein wenig von seiner komischen Story und Erzählweise enttäuscht. Das eigentliche Thema gefällt mir ja, aber leider bleiben am Ende dann doch noch ein paar Fragen und Ungereimtheiten offen.
Zudem fand ich es diesmal ein bisschen nervig,…

Maybe Terence Hill and Bud Spencer has something to offer after all, I at least preferred this a lot more than the two Trinity westerns they had made earlier.
The story is nothing special and it has a lot of filler that gives the runtime an unnecessary length, but it never becomes too slow or boring, but the story could still have been better.
There was a lot of comedy and many of the gags were pretty funny and/or creative. A few jokes didn’t land and went on for too long, but it was overall pretty good.
The acting was very average and it seems like Terence Hill and Bud Spencer always play the same characters, but they were entertaining… -

Sergio Corbucci's first foray into "Trinity Boys" vehicles sees Terence Hill as a Navy officer who when tasked with cracking a bookmaking racket decides to recruit a reformed gambler - now dolphin hauling / nun chauffeuring trucker - Bud Spencer. Rather than divulge his mission to Spencer, Hill decides to trick and annoy him into participation. Spencer is at his most endearing, with a clearly defined character that wears his many complexes on his sleeve. Reaching an apex for scampish holy terror, Hill gleefully punches Spencer's buttons - gambling away the man's truck as he slowly unravels his life. Odds and Evens isn’t the kind of film you’d have expected from Sergio Corbucci. Though the slapstick, strictly-no-killing, cartoonish violence is something that Terence Hill and Bud Spencer had been known for since the early seventies, and the duo were still going strong late into the decade. This film would be the director’s first of three collaborations with the comedic pair.
The plot follows a US Navy Lieutenant (Hill) as he recruits a truck driver (Spencer) with gambling knowledge to take down an illegal operation. As the pair hit the road, it is revealed that they are actually half brothers.

Bei ‚Zwei sind nicht zu bremsen‘ bin ich wahrlich am Rätseln, ob ich den in Kindheitstagen mal gesehen habe; irgendwie verschwimmen die Miami-Filme aus Strand- beziehungsweise maritimen Setting und Trucker-Roadmovie zu einem Brei. Eigentlich sind alle Ingredienzen, die einen guten Spencer & Hillausmachen, vorhanden: reichlich Backenfutter und Prügeleien ("Halt mal du Schnuttenfeger. Haust du dich nun mit dem da oder haut ihr euch beide mit uns?" - "Er nun wieder." - "Spielt denn das "ne Rolle?" - "Allerdings." - "Dann möchtest du was auf"s Maul?" - "Ja."), jede Menge Fressorgien („Und wenn du denkst, du kannst dir deinen Wanst vollschlagen mit meinen Bohnen mit Zwiebeln, dann werde ich dir gleich eine zwiebeln.")und eine ordentliche Schnodder-Synchro ("Horsche mal, hast du son Fettschwabbel gesehen? Son Zweischläfrigen mit Gesichtsmatratze?" - "Jeden Morgen im Spiegel!"). Aber trotzdem will der Funken der Begeisterung irgendwie nicht so ganz überspringen. Dies ist keine Kritik zum Film, sondern eine allgemeine und persönliche Einschätzung zu den Spencer-Hill-Filmen, mit der ich mir wohl wenig Freunde machen werde...
Die Einflüsse des Italowesterns sind hier sehr offensichtlich. Getauscht wird die Wüste gegen exotische Orte wie hier Florida oder Brasilien, die Pferde gegen Autos oder Motorräder. Die Gewalt, die im Italowestern der vergangenen 60er-Jahre immer expliziter und grimmiger (und auch realistischer) in seinen Darstellungen wurde, hat man hier dagegen lustig, "slapstickig" und cartoonhaft dargestellt. Bei dieser Gewalt gibt es keine (langfristigen) Konsequenzen. Dabei scheinen Bud und vor allem Terence immer irgendwie über dem Gesetz zu stehen, scheinen fast unverwundbar und engagieren sich augenscheinlich für gewisse Randgruppen und positionieren sich meist klar gegen die Oberschicht. Ich hab wie wohl jedes Kind meiner Generation die Bud Spencer/Terence Hill-Streifen bis zum Umfallen gesehen. Teilweise kann ich mich gar nicht mehr erinnern, welcher Film welcher ist. Bei Zwei sind nicht zu bremsen war ich mir sogar nicht so sicher, ob ich ihn schon einmal gesehen habe. Wahrscheinlich ist es einfach nur Urzeiten her.
